A couple of new purchases from today. Since I'm slowly starting to redecorate my room I want inspirational things, and I thought this Marilyn Monroe picture was beautiful, classy & glamourous. . a life I'd love to live. Then I also bought a new cute lantern candle holder, and some cute roses in a tea kettle looking vase. Lastly I purchases a new cute make-up bag, I love the design & the size is perfect, also Maybelline's new "Baby Lips" in "15 Cherry Me" it smells so delicious!

An evening at Starbucks

Trying to finish this book as fast as I can, I want to move on to another book by Jonathan Foer, before the movie comes out! ("Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"), if you've read it, let me know if it's good or your opinion! (no spoiling for me please). As a vegan I find this book to be so mind-blowing, Foer, does an amazing job at getting real information on real factory farms, and interviews real worker, names anonymous of course. I'm just in love with this book, and even if you do eat meat, it's still a good book, and will make you double think twice about how carefully you choose your meat now. Halfway through and the information is just captivating, I can't wait to read the rest.

Wearing & New Years Post

So I decided to do a two-in-one post, above (to the right) is my outfit of the day. I love this outfit, very comfortable, and I love the mixing of the two patterns. Now I want to do a review of the year 2011 & what I expect from 2012.

2011:
This year was by far a very calm year, maybe one of the most calmest years I've ever had. I spent most of my time with my boyfriend, working and school. I finished my first year of college & ended the first half of my second year of college. I predicted this year (school wise) it was going to be tough...and boy was I correct! My brain was always tired, I napped a bunch, and studied my brain out, but it was definitely all worth it in the end when I see I end up passing. Elias and I spent another year together, we are three years now, time sure does fly, we definitely became a lot closer this year, learned new things about each other as well as loved each other more than ever. Work wise, I ended my second job, I worked there for a year at the pet store, then at the end of the year I got a new job at a coffee place, now I am a barista, so far, I'm really liking it. This year was mainly a year of sitting back, and analyzing things and realizing what I want to do with my life, where should I be heading and getting a bit clearer picture of my future. This year was also definitely a year of first's as well like: first MacBook Pro laptop, first Nikon camera, a new addition to my furry family (mini poodle Nylon), a new lifestyle I chose to try (veganism), a new body that came along with my lifestyle decision (losing 10lbs), new things learned, new lessons experienced, new thoughts put together, new friends and mainly a better understanding of what's really important in my life, and what's not so important. A lot of growing up was done this year, and I don't feel like the same girl I was Jan. 1, 2011. I'm ready for a new year and to do a lot of changing.

2012:
For 2012, I see things changing dramatically, I see myself with new people, learning more than I ever thought I would, doing small traveling (maybe around the country), challenging my brain more often, a happier year, a more successful year, having more fun, and beginning to live the life I want. I think I'll be more out and about this year, helping out more, continuing my veganism, continuing to take care of my body, continue to read and learn as much as I can. I think it's going to be a beautiful year.

What I wore for New Years night! I had such a good time w/ my family. Ate good food, played tons of funny games, won money $$!, ate grapes, drank wine, rode a broom (yes you heard right), got good luck coins . . . I could go on & on. Tomorrow I'll write a review for the year 2011 & what I expect from 2012. I have a positive feeling for this coming year. Christmas Shopping Begins (late of course !)

So I got Elias' gift just a while ago online & it was on sale WITH free shipping ... so I believe myself I got a deal.. so excited! Just relieved that's one person knocked off my list. Probably going to go to the mall to do the rest on Monday morning (hoping that's when it least packed). Fall semester '11 is finally over & I couldn't be happier, now a month of pure relaxation and enjoying myself. After Christmas shopping & Christmas passes.. I plan to treat myself to an 'all me' day & got get a pedicure, a massage & a shopping spree. I think that sounds delightful. Hope y'alls Christmas shopping isn't too hectic if you wait the last moments like me!

Retail Therapy

Just a couple of purchases from Target today: some new slippers for Winter time (w/ fuzz inside to keep warm!), a furry pillow case for a body pillow (it's so comfy and warm!), decided to give myself a mini french manicure with those three simple polishes and some yummy coffee to end the day. Tough week ahead w/ school ending in two weeks and all.. time is really flying by!

That time of year . . .

So Thanksgiving has come and gone yet again another year down the drain, I'm not sure where time has been going but ever since I entered college, time just hasn't seemed to be by my side anymore. Thanksgiving is a time when my gratitude is clearly in my conscience and when I really realize how blessed I am ( I know year-round I am but this time of year it's just floating around).

A loving family who provides me w/ a home for my head
a boyfriend who still excites me like we just met & gives me butterflies . . . 3 years later
a working vehicle! (by working I mean still provides me w/ the essentials: warm/cold air-con, CD player, and runs!
2 loving pets who I enjoy so much and give my days entertainment
My veganism and how strong it allows me feel, and my plans to continue it
losing weight, finding a love for exercising & being a healthy person (it makes you feel amazing)
doing well in college and God giving me the will power to continue (even at 2am when I feel like giving up)
passing another year & learning many new things that I've come across as well as new lessons learned
becoming a stronger person
another year to be alive & healthier than ever
lovely friends who haven't forgotten about me
everyone in my family to be alive & well

My name is Sarah and I've had this blog for a little over two years already, obviously I just love deleting everything when I feel the time is right because I don't feel like that person anymore. I change my mind quite often and currently feel lost with life but maybe that's how every other 2nd year college student feels like? ....or am I the only one? Well on here, I'll share my daily/weekly encounters, my two dogs, family, maybe fashion outfits or recent purchases, or stuff I'm into, I'll just try to mix it up, because I like seeing a little of everything, especially make it personal. I love seeing personal blogs, and just entering a piece into someones life that they're willing to share, I like reading there opinions and what they believe, it's so interesting getting to know people and how different we are, yet different location, city, state, country, religion.. We still all tie together. I'm just going to post some things about myself to get something going:

I have two dogs, Dino = daschund mix & Nylon = mini. poodle
I live in the deepest part of South Texas (literally 20 minutes away from the Mexico border)
I plan on traveling the world or at least start off with going to one place in every continent
I want to see the world, experience different cultures and see how other people live
I have a boyfriend who I've been with for 3 years and he makes me a very happy girl
I'm a vegan and I wouldn't have it any other way, it makes me feel powerful, and so good
I would diagnose myself with "compulsive buying disorder" because I have a bad money spending habit
I don't feel my age at all nor do I like telling people it, because I don't feel I act it, so maybe you can decide for yourself how old you think I am
I'm a simple person who doesn't ask for much and enjoy being alone sometimes, maybe too much time for my own good.
I love cooking/baking (especially I'm learning so many vegan sweet treats, it's awesome!)
I love talking to new people and getting to know them
I hope to some day move to a big city get an experience from there, learn all I can, then when I'm older or ready to settle down I want to move onto land, get away from it all after I've learned the most I could've and live under lots of trees with open space and a nice home.
I love reading, and am currently slowly expanding my book collection (if you'd like to recommend a book, please do so!)
